Background information
With the amount of years of experience that Freestyle Now and its squad riders have in the sport of bicycle freestyle it's only natural that we wish to pass on that knowledge to the new riders in the sport. With its current squad member line up Freestyle Now has a combined total of bicycle freestyle experience of almost 50 years. Our head coach Shaun Jarvis has over 23 years experience in bicycles. That's a lot of knowledge and experience to pass on. This is why Freestyle Now hosts workshops and coaching clinics. These workshops are fun, informative and motivational. The squad members let the participants ride at their own level and they encourage progression. All the instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. All ages are catered for and we don't exclude any person. Our workshops cover all the aspects of the sport including ramp, jumping and flatland.

Requirements to participate
" Anyone over the age of 6 years old.
" The major requirement that a participant must have is a bike that is suited to participate.
" Must have the right safety equipment (helmet compulsory, pads encouraged).

" We do how ever reserves the right not to permit a participant if we feel that inclusion could be dangerous to that participant.

Start: 10 minutes

All the participants gather and we introduce ourselves to the riders and we explain a brief out line on the history of the sport. At this point the riders have the opportunity to ask any questions about the past history. Before we have a group discussion where we find out what level of skill each riders has we run through some bicycle safety items as well as bike maintenance issues. We also take a look at the bike the riders have and show them the best way to set their bike up so that it is more suitable to their riding. The riders are asked what type of tricks that they want to learn and then split into the assorted groups of skill level and then assigned a coach.

Session 1: 40 min coach time

The riders spend time with their assigned coach who runs through the tricks with them.

Break 1: 10 min

The riders are all called back and they have the opportunity to swap coached if needed. Some times the riders are comfortable with the coach that has been assigned to them but others wish to change to gain more of a different view on the tricks that they are learning. Drinks time. Rest time. Question time.

Session 2: 40 min coach time

The riders spend time with their assigned coach or new assigned coach who runs through the tricks with them. Five riders per coach is still the maximum.

Debriefing:

This is where we ask all the participants for any feed back that they might have from the workshop. We inform the riders to keep at it and not to be discouraged as it can sometimes be difficult to progress. Keep it fun and keep it real is what bicycle freestyle is all about. We ask how the riders went with their tricks, and give them a few more pointer on them just to make sure that they know what they are doing. We make sure that the riders keep motivated and if there are friends or a group of riders participating we make sure that they motivate each other. Posters and other handouts are given out at the end of each session.
