looks like the next few months are going to be a killer here at freestyle now. we are going to be flat out with a bunch of demos over the state of W.A. for next few months. The biggest news is that the freestyle now squad will be at this years Perth Royal Show. the demos will be run along side freestyle moto cross. This im sure will be a awesome show for the crowd.

6th June2007
The squad had a really good time in Leonora over the long weekend. The demos at the Leonora golden gift went really well with a stack of people taking in the demos. the skate park up there is good. a 10 hour drive home on the monday was the only thing that was a bit of a killer.

21st May 2007

15th November 2006
WOW all I can say is WOW and again ill say it WOW
What a ride the last few month have been. Freestyle now has been all over the place. Sorry for not getting some update done sooner but time has been the problem. So many tasks for only one guy to do. I must get my self sorted and up date more frequently.

On the riding front the next freestyle now show will be at the Wanneroo show on the 25th of November

The LIVEWIRE JAM will be on the 16th of December starting at 12 noon. Come to the Mandurah skatepark and ride with riders from all over the state. This is the biggest riding event in Western Australia so don't miss it

Ive had my reconstruction surgery on my thumb and so im not riding for a few weeks till its all sorted. Im hopping that it's all going to work out good.

The bmx games are coming up in Sydney in January and it looks like that W.A. will have a good crew of riders going over.

The last few months have been busy with demos all over the place. Heres a bit of a report of what freestyle now has been up to.

So Kie, Matt Lawton, Ryan and myself (Shaun) went out to the wheat belt for a few day for demos. Newdegate was the first stop. It was not as windy as last year nor was it raining. We were there for two day for demos. The demos went really well and we had a good time. We stayed out on a farm in some shearers' quarters and I must say it was so freezing cold. Im glad that we were not brass monkeys that for sure. On the last night there we had a fire going and sat around toasting marshmallows and rapping out some funky freestyle raps. The quote from that trip was quite funny. We were at the roadhouse and I was getting some money out of the bank via eftpos. Kie asks the lady behind the counter if you can check your balance on the machine. The lady replies "why do you want to know your dads bank balance". Kie and I both reply at the same time "he's not my son" "he's not my dad"

We drove to Quairading from Newdegate and unfortunately it was raining on the Saturday. I felt really bad as we did not even set up any thing it was just to wet. From there we went to Mukinbudin. We did the demos in side the sports hall and they really had a good vibe. The last show of the day we rearranged the ramps so that they were set up as a halfpipe against the walls. Kie and Ryan both took turns in attacking the walls with large double peg stalls and ice pick stalls. Ryan even got a barspin to icepick stall pulled, he was happy.

We were only home for a few days when we were off to Coolgardie for their celebration day. These shows were great. We had about 500 spectators at each show right on the main street of Coolgardie. The quote of the trip was from me. "I love strap ons" in reference to our conversation about safety pads. We had some photo's of our demos sent to us from some spectators which was great. On our way home just outside of Kellerberrin we blew out a tire on the trailer. It was lots of fun changing that with it loaded up with ramps.

Again we were only home for a few days and we were off to the Mingenew lions expo. North this time. Jason came on this trip which was good to have him onboard. Last year at Mingenew we had some good shows. This year the drought seemed to be keeping the show patrons away as the numbers were down a bit. Our demos how ever went off. Ryan ended up ice picking the fence again and getting his 180's over the box done, large they both were. On the first night there we went to the pub and hung out with the locals and getting drinks brought for us. Only at a country pub could you be out side in the main street kicking the footy around. Fun times and burn outs are great.

On the 8th of October the make a difference ride was held at Scarborough beach to help raise money for the shenton park rehabilitation hospital. The day was great as I got to have a good ride for once. Travelling all over the place can have its draw backs, like Kie riding on the day after being at my birthday party the night before.

The Waroona agricultural show was next to be hit. With Kie over in the eastern states we invited Owen Dorren to ride with us. The shows went off really well with large crowds at all the demos. Owen did a flip and landed on his back in the last show, ouch. Ryan lived up to the "I can icepick any thing" and proceeded to ice pick the top of the fence that was over 2 meters high from the deck of the small quarter (1.2 m high). After a few shots he got it down spot on. The quote from that day came from a girl that was getting one of our posters signed by us "are you guys famous or something, who are you guys" "we are freestyle now" "well if you guys are so famous how come you drive such shit cars" it was a golden moment for sure.

Esperance was our next location. Matt Lawton came with us on this trip. Esperance is Matt's home town. What a drive that was, about 12 hours. Almost ran out of gas coming into Ravensthorpe, almost hitting 3 baby foxes and coming into Esperance just in time to hit up the skatepark for a bit before the light went out. In Esperance we had two days of demos. The first day it was really windy and the spirits were a bit low as we had to contend with the strong winds and a really bad riding surface. We got the demos done thou and the audience really loved it. We were signing poster for ages. Day two and the wind was a bit better and again we hit up some good demos. One good thing to come out of the Esperance trip was that we went into the Esperance hotel and saw an awesome live gig from Toby and her band code red. Awesome gig and the music was really really good and to think that they are a W.A. band. I brought their cd and we listened to it all the way back to Perth.
On the Sunday had the day off and had a look around Esperance a bit. It was so cool to see some sites like the beaches and rocks.
Come Monday we went to Norseman to do a coaching workshop and do a demo. The Norseman Park is an ok place to ride with a decent mini. The workshop got cut a bit short due to a massive rain storm but we did get the demo in. The town came out in force to watch and the kids truly digged it. From there the next day was a 10 hour drive back to Perth. A lot of driving done but the whole trip was a blast.

The next gig was the Canning Agricultural Show on Friday the 3rd of November. Like last year the show went off. Both Jason and myself took over the area and busted out some mean flatland moves while kie threw down a tail whip on the small quarter. The crowd there was great and really got into the demo.

24th August 2006
It has been a busy time these last few weeks. When is it not busy I say?
First up Jason, Ryan and myself (Shaun) went up to Kambalda and Coolgardie on the 22nd and 23rd of July. The time out there was great. We meet lots of young riders in the coaching workshops and the towns loved the demos. We stoped off at the famous Southern Cross banks for a while and managed to get some video footage of Jason on the banks. Cool. On our tours we now have got to get the quote (best line said) of the trip. On this trip Jason managed to score the best one. On coming back from the Kambalda pub on our last night he said "I went over there to score with Olga and I came back with spikes number" (just to set it straight, spike was a guy that Jason was talking to about work.)

Ryan had a birthday on the 30th of July and we all had a great night out.

Early August we all flew up to Karratha for the FeNaCing festival. Karratha is a nice place and the festival was large indeed. The shows we did were very well received with many people young and old enjoying the performances. 4 shows a day for 2 days was a lot of hard work but in true Freestyle Now form we got the deed done with much enthusiasm. On the Monday we hosted a competition at the Dampier skatepark. The locals really loved it and the day was very relaxed. Big thanks to Brett from Monadelphous engineering (our sponsor for the weekend) for showing us around Dampier and Karratha. We all came back very exhausted and had to take a few days to recover from one of the best times we have had. The quote of the trip belonged to Jason again. When visiting the public toilets at the demo site Jason came back and said "I went and ended up getting water splash in my spinkster valve"

Jason had a birthday on the 17th of August. He is never going to catch up to me though.

Freestyle Now is now getting ready for and other trip out to the wheat belt for a few days. Newdegate, Quairading and Mukinbudin are all going to be hit up with demos in early September. Matt from Tempered Bikes will be joining the squad for this set of demos. This should be a fun trip but unfortunately we won't have time to hit up Wave Rock this time around. Bummer.

The mozzies in Sourthern Cross are huge.

News of the FREESTYLE NOW BICYCLE STUNT SQUAD shows are now set. It's going to be another busy few months ahead for all the squad. Lots of travelling to be had and fun will be the main feature

RYAN INVERTING AT NEDLANDS

7th June 2006

Well sorry for not having any news updated recently but things have been very busy of late, and with a new bike to ride (yes that's right ive got a new bike, bout time i say) but there is loads to report.
Kie Ashworth went all good at the got dirt comp in Adelaide a few weeks ago. He ended up getting not only a swollen elbow from a nasty crash but also taking out 11th in the pro dirt comp as well.
Round 3 of W.A.N.K.S. (western Australian new komp series) took place at the Bunbury skatepark on the 28th of May. Kie Ashworth took out the win with Chris Jones and Rex Cubic taking second and third in the park comp. Shaun Jarvis some how got the 1st in flatland even on his new bike. Jason Parker got the 2nd spot with Mike Bielecki getting the 3rd.
Freestyle now will be heading to the goldfields at the end of July for some coaching workshops and demos. Kambalda and Coolgardie will be the destinations at this point but there may be a Kalgoorlie stop over in the works.

After having a tank of a bike for many years ive finally got a new ride. A FEDERAL Steve Hamilton with all Odyssey parts which is well good to ride. It's a great bike and im very happy to have it.
Ryan Gardiner's ankle is getting better but he is still riding with it strapped but is now eager to start to learn some new tricks.
The agricultural show season is about to start soon so all going well you should see the Freestyle Now bicycle stunt squad all over Western Australia at many country shows.

Ryan Gardiner is now recovering from ankle surgery that he had a few weeks ago.
He needed to have some extra bits of bone spurs removed from around his ankle.
He is well on the way to recovery and should be back on his bike in a few more weeks.

Kie Ashworth will be heading over to Adelaide next week to compete at the GOT DIRT competition. He will be also hanging out with the crew from stowaway distribution and riding heaps like only Kie can. Hope Kie will place well at the comp.

Shaun Jarvis will have his new bike rolling soon. It's about time he got a new ride.

Work has begun on the Freestyle Now DVD. You know it. Word
